BBS Institute of Law in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Naini Central Jail, Prayagraj on 28th October 2025 organized a Jail visit for the students of BBS Institute of Law. It provided students with a deeper understanding of the justice system beyond the classroom. The initiative aimed to connect theoretical legal education with practical exposure to legal aid challenges, rehabilitation processes, and prisoners rights.
The program was facilitated by Shri B.P. Singh (Director of Law, BBS Institute of Law), Shri Dinesh Kumar Gautam (Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Prayagraj, Additional District Judge), and Shri Vijay Vikram Singh (Naini Jail Superintendent). The visit was supervised by Shri Kunj Bihari Singh (Deputy Jailer), Ms. Vandana Jaiswal (Deputy Jailer), Shri Manas Tripathi (Head of Department, Law), and Ms. Aditi Anand (Faculty of Law).
During the visit, students interacted with under-trial and convicted prisoners under the guidance of jail authorities and faculty mentors. They observed the functioning of legal aid services inside correctional institutions and discussed inmates experiences regarding access to justice. These interactions provided valuable insights into the human and procedural aspects of law, emphasizing empathy and reform-based justice.
Students shared that the experience broadened their understanding of the legal profession and strengthened their commitment to serving society with integrity and compassion. The institute expressed gratitude to the DLSA and Naini Jail Authorities for organizing this impactful visit, reaffirming its dedication to socially responsible legal education.
